The S.S Delvo- by Ryan, Grade 3

The fact that the title says Delvo, rather than Devil, the crude drawing on school stationary paper: this image sends a very funny message of sly rebellion. I think its brilliantly executed!

Imaginary animals by grades 2&3, Clinton Elementary

This was my favorite class project yet. The finished images are so creative and you can really feel how much fun the kids had. I am especially impressed by the natural ability kids have to create dynamic layouts and compositions with type and imagery.

**Special Feature*** A christmas card, by Luca. Gr 5, Clinton Elementary

Luca is in my wednesday class at Clinton Elementary. He's one of those kids that launches into a project with wit, bang-on composition and great colours from the get go. I immediately loved his sketch for the christmas card when he showed it to me, and am thrilled with the final print. There are so many great things about this piece. What I love most is how the quick, clever concept is reflected in the craftsmanship. The simplicity of the line, the expressions, and the graphic elements, all fit purposely and perfectly in your execution.
Good job Luca!

Achilles' tree

Achilles explains his design choices: the clay covering the mid section of the tree is to protect ones hands from getting poked by the wire underneath. Safety first! I love that he considers how sculptures will be played with by the audience!
